Cognizant Planning to Hire 50,000 Freshers
Over 33,000 freshers were recruited previously, more than double the number recruited in 2020 (17,000 freshers). According to the company, it had 330,600 employees at the end of last year, a 14 percent increase compared to the year prior.
According to the company’s fiscal calendar, it had attrition of 31 percent in the fourth quarter of FY21.
Despite the higher percentage of attrition compared to competitors TCS, Infosys, and Wipro, their numbers have been reduced to Cognizant chronologically.
According to Cognizant, the company had a 33 percent attrition rate in Q3FY21.
“While the rest of the sector at least saw an increase in wear and tear for this quarter, we managed to get a little rest on a quarter-on-quarter basis. Is this sustainable?
We do everything within the organization to ensure that it persists, but waste is always dependent on market dynamics, “ said Rajesh Nambiar President, Cognizant India, and President Digital Business and Technology.
Recently, Cognizant opened a new facility in Chennai that spans 600,000 square feet and can accommodate 5000 employees.
