TCS hired 43,000 freshers in the first half of FY22, which is a lower number than the 43,000 hired in the first half of FY22. During the full year, it had recruited over 1 lakh.
It plans to hire 10,000 to 12,000 freshers more in FY23, but it will decide on its new targets following the third quarter, according to India.com.
For the September quarter, as many as 9,840 employees were hired by TCS, taking its headcount to 6,16,171. The company added 14,136 new employees in the previous quarter. Before that, 19,690 employees were recruited.

In the meantime, TCS reported a profit of Rs 10,431 crore for the September 2022 quarter, an 8.4% increase over the same period last year.
During April-June 2022, the company’s revenue rose 18 per cent to Rs 55,309 crore, up from Rs 46,867 crore a year ago. A net profit of Rs 9,624 crore had been made by the company in the previous financial year.
A BSE filing indicates that TCS’ net profit rose 10.05 percent from Rs 9,478 crore in the previous quarter. Revenues grew 4.83 percent from Rs 52,758 crore to Rs 42,178 crore, up 20.47 per cent.
During the second quarter of FY23, TCS’ total expenses jumped 20.47 per cent to Rs 42,178 crore, up from Rs 35,009 crore. As compared with September 2021, the company earned Rs 28.01 per share during July-September 2022.
